It’s no secret that there is a right way and a wrong way to approach trade shows. When you’re looking to make a great first impression and get a positive ROI, you’ve got to know the best ways to handle your trade show involvement, from the planning to professionally-done displays.
Below, you’ll find 4 things you’ll be really glad you discovered come trade show time. Read on!
#1: First Impressions Can Make or Break You
Did you know that our initial opinion of another person forms in 1/10th of a second? That is not much time! And the same is true for brands, as well – except this time, you get about 1/5th of a second to make a positive impression.
(PS: 94% of people’s opinions about your brand is design-related.)
You may not have a huge trade show budget, but your design shouldn’t suffer because of it. Make your exhibit something people will remember long after that first 1/5th of a second is over.
#2: Set Up Pre-Show Booth Meetings
Many companies start reaching out to attendees 4-6 weeks before the show. Ask them to meet with you at your booth before the show starts, and make it about getting to know them, not about selling them something. Focus on hearing about your guests and what they do before you offer information about your brand.
#3: Take Advantage of Similar Target Markets
Now, this doesn’t mean you should be trying to nab contacts from a direct competitor, but if there are other exhibitors who aren’t necessarily competition but have a very similar target market as you, then why not trade leads and contact information with them? You’ll both instantly double your opportunities for sales, and that’s always a good thing!
#4: Buy a Ticket for Your Best Clients
Getting a previous customer to purchase again is much easier than convincing someone to buy for the first time. That means that you want your best clients at the trade show – so if they aren’t already going, buy them a ticket. You’ll impress your client by getting them in to the event, and the chances that they will buy from you again will go through the roof.
